We are having a conversation about practicalities. “I don’t care, I’ve seen the heartbeat now, everything changed for me”, he says. He shares how the view of the heartbeat during the ultrasound instantly connected him to my pregnancy, the realization that there is a life growing inside of me. I feel relief hearing that and also a deep sense of care. I understand now that even when I might not fully be there yet, someone is guarding this little creation inside of me. Someone is already present with this being. It allows me to lean back and follow my healing proces towards this connection in my own pace. To walk step by step through every new awareness, until I reach that same place and we can hold it together.
